The building houses a centralised kitchen, store, and auditorium facility for the engineering college. Since the kitchen and store are large spaces that require no interface with students, they are expressed as a podium on which the 1,500-seat auditorium is placed. An amphitheatre on this first floor increases the capacity of the complex and also helps to pedestrianise the circulation path to the auditorium.
